Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be an incoming first-time-in-college freshman.
  4. Must plan to attend the University of North Florida.
  5. Must have a UNF recalculated high school grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  6. Must reside in Duval, Baker, Nassau, St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler, or Clay counties in Florida. Please note: Priority is given in the order listed.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. students who plan to attend the University of North Florida as incoming freshmen. The student must be a resident of Duval, Baker, Nassau, St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler, or Clay counties in Florida (in order of priority); the student must also have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and demonstrate financial need.

Application requirements for the UNF Alfred I. DuPont Foundation Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • FAFSA
  • Resume
  • Recommendation letter
  • Interview (if requested)
  • Personal statement
Additional Information: Students must demonstrate financial need. Financial need is determined by a student's campus cost of attendance minus the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated from the FAFSA, and other aid received. Students may be required to schedule a scholarship interview. Such students will be provided with the date and time for the interview. Current UNF students and transfer students are not eligible to apply.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.
