Number of Awards & Eligibility: All eligible students will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an incoming first-time freshman.
  2. Must have an UNF recalculated grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
  3. Must have an SAT score of 1300 or higher (excluding writing sections) OR an ACT score of 28 or higher.
  4. This award is for U.S students.
  5. Must attend the University of North Florida.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Description: This award is available to U.S students who are planning to attend the University of North Florida as freshmen. Students must have a UNF recalculated grade point average of 3.6 or higher, and a SAT score of 1360 or higher or an ACT score of 28 or higher.

Additional Information: Students receiving an automatic merit-based scholarship (like the Presidential award) will be considered for competitive merit-based scholarships on an upgrade basis only. Their awards will not be combined for a total higher value. Instead, they will keep the award that provides the highest scholarship amount. Students are only eligible to receive one UNF merit-based scholarship. However, students who have already received an automatic scholarship can submit an application to be considered for a possible scholarship upgrade. Scholarship decisions will be mailed Feb. 2. Current and transfer students are not eligible to receive this scholarship.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Program information is available online on the University of North Florida (UNF) website. To apply for this scholarship, the student must first submit an admissions application to UNF. Admissions information is available online at www.unf.edu/admissions/apply/Freshman_Admissions_Requirements.aspx. After submitting the admissions application, the student will be required to submit the following items: a recent resume; a letter of recommendation; and a personal statement that addresses the topics listed at the scholarship page. For priority consideration, a completed admissions application and scholarship application must be submitted by email no later than the deadline date. Applications received after this date will be considered on a funds-available basis. Please note: Students need to only submit one scholarship application. Each applicant will be automatically considered for every scholarship for which he/she qualifies.
