Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of eligible applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be an entering freshman.
  3. Must have applied for admission to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
  4. Must be a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist.
  5. Must have an ACT composite score of 30 or higher OR an SAT composite score of 1330 or higher (verbal/critical reading and math only).
  6. Must have a high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a non-weighted 4.0 scale.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  8. Must be a resident of Louisiana.
  9. Must attend a college or university in Louisiana.

Description: This award is for U.S. students who have applied for admission to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as entering freshmen and are residents of Louisiana. The student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, an ACT composite score of 30 or higher or an SAT composite score of 1390 or higher, and be a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist. Funds can be used for study abroad.

Application requirements for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Jefferson Caffery Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Some early scholarship offers will be made to students who have an ACT score of 28 or higher, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and have been admitted to ULL by Nov. 15.

Award Amount: The total scholarship award is approximately $58,000, disbursed in equal installments over eight semesters. The scholarship includes funds for room and board. Students who are awarded this scholarship also receive the opportunity to study abroad, a campus job, and use of a laptop computer.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $58,000.
