Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a resident of Nebraska.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  5. Must attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
  6. Must have a strong desire to pursue a health sciences career.

Description: U.S. graduating high school seniors who are planning to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and enroll in a health sciences program are eligible for this award.

Application requirements for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Health Sciences Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Apply for admission by February 1. Complete and submit the Diversity Enhancement Application in MyRed by February 1. Complete the FAFSA by February 1 of your senior year in high school. Complete the ACT/SAT on or before the February national test date and submit scores to Nebraska. Submit your Enrollment Deposit in MyRED by May 1. The Health Sciences Tuition Scholarship is renewable for a second year provided the recipient completes the program's first-year requirements and satisfies the university's scholarship renewal requirements. Health Science Scholars enroll in CASC 191 in the fall semester, CASC 150 in the spring semester, and develop and complete an academic course plan appropriate to their healthcare interest. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of the first academic year. Recipients will receive full eligibility and renewal policies and expectations when offered the scholarship.

Award Amount: Up to 30 credit hours of base tuition for up to two years. Tuition and fees alone is valued at $9,690  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $29,070.

Additional information is available online from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln website. The student must first apply for admission to the university. In addition to the completed admissions application, the student must submit a diversity enhancement scholarship application via MyRed and a Financial Information Form. Applications must be submitted by Feb. 1.
