Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies annually, based on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
  2. Must have an ACT score of 25 or higher.
  3. Must have a combined math/verbal SAT score of 1210 or higher.
  4. Must attend the University of South Florida.
  5. Must be a high school senior or first time undergraduate student at the time of application.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  7. This award is for U.S. students.
  8. Must plan to attend a college or university in Florida.

Description: This award is available for non-Florida residents who are attending the University of South Florida. Applicants who have a weighted grade point average of 3.6 or higher and SAT/ACT scores of 1210/25 are automatically eligible for this award upon admission to the University of South Florida.

Application requirements for the USF Green & Gold Scholars Award are:

Additional Information: If selected for an admissions scholarship, applicants will be notified by mail as part of the admission acceptance letter or a separate scholarship offer letter. Notification takes place between October and February. Transcripts and test scores received within the awarding timeline will be used for consideration. Even after a student has been admitted, scholarship offers may be increased based on improved test scores and/or official first semester grades - including all standardized tests taken in January, and any updated high school transcripts received by Feb. 15.

Award Amount: Up to $6,000 annually, renewable for up to an additional three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $24,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the University of South Florida (USF) website. There is not a separate application for this award. Each student is considered upon admission. In addition to the completed admissions application, the student must submit a $30 application fee; official transcripts; and ACT/SAT scores. Applications are accepted year-round, but should be submitted by the priority deadline for scholarship consideration.
