Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards provided annually varies based on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This scholarship is for international students.
  2. Must attend the University of South Florida.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
  4. Must have a combined math and verbal SAT score of at least 1220, or an ACT score of at least 25.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior (or equivalent), or current undergraduate transfer student at the time of application.
  6. Must plan to attend a college or university in Florida.

Description: This award is available for international students who are attending the University of South Florida. Applicants who have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher and SAT/ACT scores of 1220/25 are considered for this award upon admission to the University of South Florida.

Application requirements for the USF International Student Scholarship are:

  • Official Transcript
  • Application form
  • Admission fee
  • IELTS or TOEFL scores
  • Financial statement
  • Copies of immigration documents
Additional Information: If selected for an admissions scholarship, applicants will be notified by mail as part of the admission acceptance letter or a separate scholarship offer letter. Notification takes place between October and February. Transcripts and test scores received within the awarding timeline will be used for consideration. Even after a student has been admitted, scholarship offers may be increased based on improved test scores and/or official first semester grades - including all standardized tests taken in January, and any updated high school transcripts received by Feb. 15.

Award Amount: $6,000 to $12,000 annually, depending on academic record and standardized testing scores.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $36,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the University of South Florida (USF) website. There is not a separate application for this award. Each student is considered upon admission. In addition to the completed admissions application, the student must submit a $30 application fee; official transcripts; ACT/SAT scores; official IELTS or TOEFL (required for applicants whose first language is not English); financial statement that shows funding support based on the estimated cost of attendance for one academic year or two semesters; and copies of immigration documents, if currently in the U.S. on a temporary visa. Applications are accepted year-round, but should be submitted by the priority deadline for scholarship consideration.
