Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Venice, Florida.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduate of Venice High School in Venice, Florida.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student at the time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for seniors and graduates of Venice High School in Venice, Florida. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Application requirements for the Venice High School Scholarships are:

Additional Information: This program targets students who reside in Venice or its surrounding communities, demonstrate financial need, and have experience in community service and/or employment. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need in order to be considered for a Gulf Coast Community Foundation scholarship. Financial need is established based on the FAFSA and college aid award letter. For students meeting the financial need criteria, academic achievement and extracurricular activities will be taken into consideration. Named scholarships provided through or in honor of Venice High School include: The Dein Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County Scholarship; Wayne L. Lechlitner Memoral Scholarship; Richard E. Martin Memorial Scholarship; Rotary Futures Dan Parrett Citizenship Scholarship; and the Rotary Futures Venice Family YMCA Scholarship.

Award Amount: The amount of each award varies annually. The total amount designated for all the scholarships offered by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice is $200,000. This award is non-renewable, but applicants can reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in January for a refreshed application deadline date. Applications are available online at the Gulf Coast Community Foundation at Venice website using the link provided. In addition to a completed application, applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation, a SAR (Student Aid Report) from their FAFSA, two personal essays, a letter of acceptance from the institution they plan to attend, their most recent transcripts, copies of recent IRS tax returns, and a copy of their college aid award letter. All applications must be received before 11:59 p.m. on the deadline date.
