Application requirements for the Weisblatt Law Firm Scholarship Program are:

  • Essay
Additional Information: The Weisblatt Law Firm provides this scholarship in recognition of the importance of education and the need to help others. Essay submissions will be evaluated on a combination of content and language structure. Repeated grammatical errors and spelling errors may result in immediate disqualification. Late and incomplete applications will also be discarded.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship checks will be paid directly to the college or university of the winner's selection.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

To apply, students must submit an essay of 750 words or more in response to the following prompt: "In today’s day and age, information (even sensitive information) about businesses can be found easier than ever before. Businesses often protect themselves from the release of sensitive information by requiring employees to enter into non-competition agreements. Should non-competes be enforced? What about the employee’s need for subsequent employment? How should courts strike this balance and what factors should they consider?" All essays must be saved in Microsoft Office Word Format (.doc, .docx) and must be emailed to the provided address no later than the deadline date.
