Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of eligible applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must plan to attend Wesleyan College in Georgia.
  2. Must enroll as a first-time college freshman. Wesleyan College defines this as either a graduating high school senior, or a student who has never attended college and graduated from high school or received a GED within the last three years.
  3. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0-3.29.
  5. Must have an SAT score of 950-1100 OR an ACT score of 20-22.
  6. Must be a woman.
  7. Must attend college or university in Georgia.

Description: This award is available to international and U.S. students who are planning to attend Wesleyan College in Georgia (a women's college) as first-time freshmen. The student must have a grade point average of 3.0-3.29 and an SAT score of 950-1100 or an ACT score of 20-22.

Application requirements for the Wesleyan College Merit Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Students may qualify for this award by being eligible for the Georgia HOPE Scholarship, the Georgia Zell Miller Scholarship, or the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship (in lieu of grade point average/test scores requirements). Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee a scholarship. Upon review of applicant's admission credentials, the Scholarship Committee may choose to invite students who have not fully satisfied the stated eligibility requirements. A student may not receive two academic merit scholarships. She may, however, receive a second award in recognition of her leadership activities, or for the performing arts. This does not include Wesleyan's premier scholarships which take the place of any previously awarded scholarships.

Award Amount: $12,000 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $108,000.

Scholarship information is available online on the Wesleyan College website. To be considered for the scholarship, the student must apply for admission to Wesleyan College. A separate scholarship application is not required. Admission application information is available online at: www.wesleyancollege.edu/admission/index.cfm. The student must submit the following materials to apply for admission to Wesleyan College: a completed application for admission (by mail or online); a $30 application fee (waived if the student applies online); a personal statement of approximately 200 words; official high school transcripts or GED scores; a high school guidance counselor letter of recommendation; a teacher letter of recommendation (optional); and official ACT/SAT scores. International students may submit TOEFL/IELTS scores instead. International students must also submit a certificate of finance. Admission applications should be submitted by Nov. 15 for scholarship priority.
