Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  4. Must be a National Merit or Achievement Finalist or National Hispanic Scholar.
  5. Must be a female.
  6. Must attend Wesleyan College in Georgia, a women's only college.
  7. Must attend college in Georgia.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school senior women who are National Merit or Achievement Finalists or National Hispanic Scholars are eligible for this award upon admission to Wesleyan College in Georgia.

Application requirements for the Wesleyan College National Excellence Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • $30 app. fee
  • SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: A student may not receive two academic merit scholarships. She may, however, receive a second award in recognition of her leadership activities, or for the performing arts. This does not include Wesleyan's premier scholarships - the Lane, Findlay, Munroe, Pitts, and Knox McNeill - which take the place of any previously awarded scholarships.

Award Amount: Approximately $20,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $80,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Wesleyan College website. There is not a separate application for this award. The student will be considered upon admission. In addition to the completed admissions application, the student must submit a $30 application fee, secondary school transcripts, counselor recommendation form, teacher recommendationf orm (optional), and SAT/ACT scores. For priority scholarship consideration, the student should apply by the regular decision deadline.
