Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants. In the 2014-2015 academic year, there were 18,951 initial awards disbursed.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must enroll in 12 or more credit hours per term or the equivalent.
  4. Must be a resident of Florida.
  5. Must attend an eligible private, non-profit college or university in Florida. A list of the eligible institutions is available online at www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org/home/PostSecondaryInstitutions.asp.
  6. Must plan to enroll or be enrolled in an undergraduate program and have not previously received a baccalaureate degree.

Additional Information: The William L. Boyd, IV, Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) Program provides tuition assistance to Florida undergraduate students attending an eligible private, non-profit Florida college or university. Eligible students must: not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant, loan, or scholarship program unless satisfactory arrangements to repay have been made; meet Florida's general eligibility requirements for receipt of state aid; not be enrolled in a program of study leading to a degree in theology or divinity.

Award Amount: Up to $3,000 annually, renewable for a maximum of 9 semesters or 14 quarters. Certain students may receive the award for longer; students should request additional information from their financial aid office. Renewal applicants must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher and 12 or more credit hours for each term in which the award was received. Each institution may establish additional requirements for renewal.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,541.
