Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annualy based on the number of eligible applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend William Woods University in Missouri.
  2. Must be an incoming freshman or transfer student.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a sibling of a concurrently attending WWU student or to a student who is a dependent child of a WWU grandparent, parent or sibling.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. students who are admitted to William Woods University as first-time freshmen or transfer students. Students must be siblings or the dependent children of WWU alumni.

Application requirements for the William Woods University Legacy Award are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • SAT/ACT scores.
Additional Information: William Woods University offers various financial aid and scholarship programs to help students receive as much financial assistance as possible. The Legacy award is automatically awarded to siblings concurrently attending WWU or to a student who is a dependent child of a WWU grandparent, parent or sibling. Students receiving a Legacy award are eligible to receive other forms of scholarships and financial aid. Students should visit the WWU website for additional information.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Scholarship information is available on the William Woods University (WWU) website. To apply, students must apply for admission to WWU. No separate scholarship application is required. Interested students must contact WWU Admissions by phone, e-mail, mail, or website to request an application packet, or apply online from the college website. There is a processing fee to apply. Applications for admission are reviewed on a rolling basis. Students should apply by Aug. 1 for award consideration for the upcoming academic year. Students wishing to enroll for the spring semester (January) should apply no later than Dec. 1.
