Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher. The applicant must demonstrate strong math and/or science credentials.
  5. Must have an ACT score of 30 or higher OR an SAT math score of 680 or higher.
  6. Must graduate from an Albuquerque metro area high school (includes Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia, and Torrance counties).
  7. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Graduating seniors from Albuquerque, New Mexico high schools who have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher, ACT/SAT scores of 30/680 (minimum in math) or higher are eligible for this award. Students must demonstrate strong math or science credentials.

Additional Information: This fund was established in 1993 by Albuquerque businessman C.E. (Woody) Woodcock and his wife, Dixie, to support students of exceptional promise in the fields of science and math.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online from the Albuquerque Community Foundation website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, a resume of no more than three pages in length, a personal essay on the topics listed within the application, and two or more recommendation letters. One reference must be from a math or science teacher and one from other teachers, internship or work programs, or community services. The personal statement must include career goals in the fields of math or science. Applications must be submitted online by the deadline date.
