Additional Information: Hathaway Scholarships are designed to provide an incentive for Wyoming students to prepare for and pursue post-secondary education within the State of Wyoming. The program consists of four separate merit scholarships, each with specific eligibility requirements, and a need-based scholarship for eligible students that supplements the merit awards. In addition to the high school cumulative grade point average and ACT score, eligibility for each level of the Hathaway Scholarship is based on completing a Hathaway Success Curriculum. The Success Curriculum covers five content areas: math, language arts, science, social studies and foreign language. For additional information about the Hathaway scholarship, visit the Wyoming Department of Education website.

Award Amount: The Provisional Opportunity Scholarship provides $840 per full-time semester ($1,680 annually), limited to the equivalent of eight full-time semesters, not more than four of which may be used at a Wyoming community college. Awards are pro-rated for part-time enrolled students. Recipients who demonstrate financial need may also receive a need-based award. The Hathaway Need-Based Scholarship is intended to supplement the Hathaway Merit Scholarship by providing additional assistance for students with unmet financial need, as determined by the financial aid offices at the Wyoming community colleges and the University of Wyoming. Contact the college or university financial aid office for further information.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,680.
