In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in the upcoming fall semester.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: The Zavodnick, Zavodnick & Lasky Essay Contest is available for U.S. high school seniors and college students who submit an essay in response to this year's topic.

Application requirements for the Zavodnick, Zavodnick & Lasky Essay Contest are:

Additional Information: Selection of awards will be based on the quality of essay submissions, specifically: originality; thoughtfulness; and the applicant's demonstrated potential for success in their current or intended major. The winner will be selected and notified by December 15 for the fall award and June 15 for spring.

Award Amount: $1,000, non-renewable. All funds will be paid directly to the winner's college or university to be used for qualified educational expenses.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Details about the Zavodnick, Zavodnick & Lasky Essay Contest are available online at the provided link. To be considered for this award, applicants must submit an original essay of between 500 and 600 words in length in response to the topic listed at the provider website. All essays must be submitted as an email attachment and emailed to the listed address by 9 a.m. PST on the deadline date. Emails must also include the applicant's full name and phone number, the name of the educational institution they are attending or planning to attend, their current or proposed course of study, and if under 18 years of age, the contact information for a parent or guardian.
