Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 1,500 four-year awards offered annually. Additional three- and two-year scholarships may be available to students who do not receive a four-year award.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
  3. Must be between the ages of 17 and 26.
  4. Must have a high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent before September of the year in which he/she enters college. This scholarship is designed for entering freshmen, but students who have taken college courses may still be eligible if they have four academic years remaining for a bachelor's degree upon their enrollment in the fall. Students who are in an accelerated program and will complete their senior year of high school and their first year of college concurrently must have four academic years remaining in an approved program upon enrollment in the fall.
  6. Must have an SAT score of 1000 or higher OR an ACT score of 19 or higher.
  7. Must be interested in attending a school with an Army ROTC program and be willing to commit to service in the Army after college graduation.

Additional Information: The high school Four-Year Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program. The student should contact his/her high school academic adviser or campus Military Science department for more information. Students must meet minimum physical standards, and must agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or Army National Guard). This commitment is for eight years; the student must serve full time in the Army for four years and serve an additional four years in the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve). Selected cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career. Award Amount: Full tuition and fees or room and board for any participating college or university, renewable until graduation (up to four years). Army ROTC Scholarships also provide monthly living allowances for each school year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $11,250,000.

Applications are available online from the Army ROTC website. The student may apply online by creating a 'MY GOARMY' account. After login, the student should select the "ROTC 4-Year Scholarship Application" radio button, and will be taken directly to the scholarship application. The student may also download an application in PDF and submit by mail. In addition to a completed application, the student must also request that his/her high school submit an official transcript directly to Army ROTC. The student must also be sure to report his/her SAT and/or ACT scores on the application. The application must be must be started by the listed deadline date.
