Description: All students of African descent in grades 7-11 (ages 13 and up), who participate in the?NAACP's Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO), are eligible to apply. ACT-SO is a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school?students. Students can?apply in 28?categories?of art and writing.

Additional Information: To apply, submit your work to any category in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. At the end of your application, opt?in to the Alliance/ACT-SO Journey Award. You will be prompted to list the name of your local ACT-SO branch.

Award Amount: Amount varies.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.
