In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be entering from one of the following schools in the Birmingham City Schools system: A.H. Parker High School, George W. Carver High School, Huffman High School, P.D. Jackson-Olin High School, Ramsay High School, Wenonah High School or Woodlawn High School.
  2. Must be enrolling full time.
  3. Must be an incoming college freshman.

Additional Information: The Val/Sal scholarship is an offer of full tuition (valued at $12,090 per year for in state tuition 2020) renewable for up to 8 semesters. In order to continue to qualify for the Val/Sal scholarship, scholars must meet the following requirements: -maintain required GPA; -must enroll in a minimum of 15 hours each semester; and -participated in the M.A.D.E program.

Award Amount: Up to $48,360 scholarships offered.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $48,360.
