Number of Awards & Eligibility: Last year, 133 scholarships were awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be age 24 or under.
  2. Must have cumulative high school grade point average between 2.50 and 4.00 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
  3. Must be a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school located within the Alliant Energy service territory.
  4. Must reside within the Alliant Energy service territory at the time of application.
  5. Must have participated in a leadership role in community service work or volunteer activities.
  6. Must be a dependent child of a current customer, or be a current customer, of one of Alliant Energy's utility subsidiaries.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship is available for Midwest students who are enrolled full-time at an undergraduate institution within Iowa, Wisconsin, or Minnesota. Applicants must also be pursuing careers in business, STEM (applied sciences, technology, engineering and math) majors.

Application requirements for the Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship are:

Additional Information: To be eligible, scholarship applicants must have participated in a leadership role in community service work or volunteer activities. A scholarship committee will carefully review each application in search of the most deserving recipients. Judges will consider several criteria, including: leadership experience and community service or volunteer activities; academic grade point average; standardized test scores; and the content of a 300-word essay submission. Rank-in-class will not be a determining factor. Scholarship awards are for one year only and are limited to undergraduate study.

Award Amount: Scholarships are provided in the amount of $1,000 each. They are not renewable and are for undergraduate students only.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applicants fill out a form electronically on the provider website beginning December 1, 2019. They must submit transcripts, standardized test scores, a list of leadership experience and community service or volunteer activities plus a 300-word essay.
