Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to enroll as a full-time student at a four-year accredited college.
  4. Must pursue a major in one of the following fields of study: liberal arts and sciences, engineering, architecture, or business.
  5. Must be a resident of one of the following Illinois counties: Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Stephenson, Will or Winnebago.
  6. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  7. Must have an ACT composite score of 29 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors from the following Illinois counties: Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Stephenson, Will or Winnebago. Students must pursue a major in one of the following fields of study: liberal arts and sciences, engineering, architecture, or business.

Additional Information: The scholarship recipient will be selected based on academic performance, faculty recommendation, extracurricular activities, employment experience, and a demonstrated interest in a productive career. All applicants selected as finalists may be subject to a personal interview with representatives of the CRCA. Finalists will be notified in April. Although the intent of the CRCA is to recognize the outstanding nominee, should two or more candidates rank equally in the judgment of the CRCA Selection Committee, the level of need should then be considered the final criteria.

Award Amount: $4,000 annually, renewable for three additional years if the recipient maintains a 2.75 grade point average. For purposes of allocation, the funds of this award are to be used with the following priorities: tuition and fees, book purchases, room and board and other expenses. For continuation of the scholarship, the recipient will be required to provide indications of continued enrollment and good standing in a college program leading to a degree. Grade transcripts must be forwarded to the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association at the conclusion of each academic period.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are available on the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) website.In addition to the completed application, the following materials must be submitted: two completed 'Personal Evaluation' forms (one from the student's high school guidance counselor or faculty member, and the second from an adult not related to the student); an official transcript of all high school records; and an official ACT score report (if scores are not included on the transcript).All sections of the application must be completed for consideration. All completed applications and supporting materials must be submitted by postal mail or email no later than the deadline date.
