Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must be a resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington state.
  4. Preference is given to students who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT), members of LGBT families, or straight-allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBT community.
  5. Must demonstrate a history of leadership and positive social activism.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors who are residents of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington. Applicants must have a history of leadership and working toward positive social change. Preference is given to students who are self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT), members of LGBT families, or straight-allies who have been strongly supportive of the LGBT community.

Application requirements for the Kathy Spadoni Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Essay

  • Recommendation letter

  • Artwork samples (opt.)
Additional Information: Pride Foundation is able to offer a diversity of scholarships, which encourage students of different backgrounds and educational interests to apply. Most scholarships are available for straight ally or questioning students as well as student of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) parents. All promote leadership and diversity in the LGBT community.

Award Amount: The monetary award amount varies and is determined by the Pride Foundation. Generally, scholarships offered through the foundation are a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $12,000. The award is offered annually and is non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.
