Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must reside in Mercer County, New Jersey.
  4. Must have demonstrated a strong commitment to community service over several years.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school seniors residing in Mercer County, New Jersey who have demonstrated a strong commitment to community service over several years are eligible for this award. Students must plan to enroll at a four-year college or university.

Application requirements for the Greater Mercer Scholarship are:

  • FAFSA
  • Application form
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • Essay
  • Official Transcript
  • SAR
  • Copy of accept. letter
  • Copy of fin. aid
Additional Information: This is a competitive scholarship, and the recipient will be selected based on community service, financial need, achievement and character. It is very important that the student has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service over several years.

Award Amount: $1,750 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,750.

Applications are available online from the Princeton Area Community Foundation website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit a copy of his/her Student Aid Report (SAR), obtained by filing the FAFSA; two letters of recommendation; a one- to two-page, double-spaced, personal essay responding to the questions listed on the application; a copy of his/her college or vocational school acceptance letter; a copy of his/her college financial aid award letter; and high school transcripts. The student must also file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted online no later than the deadline date.
