Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be lawfully present in the United States.
  3. Must be an incoming freshman. The student must graduate from a high school accredited by a state education agency or a regional accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE).
  4. Must enroll full time in the year he/she graduates from high school.
  5. Must plan to attend Missouri State University (Springfield campus).
  6. Must rank in the top 10 percent of his/her high school class OR have a grade point average of 3.9 or higher on a 4.0 scale. These criteria will be assessed at the end of the sixth or seventh semesters.
  7. Must have an ACT score of 31 or higher OR an SAT score of 1390 or higher (critical reading and math sections only). ACT or SAT scores taken during or before October of the senior year will be considered.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors who plan to attend Missouri State University. Students must be ranked in the top 10 percent of their class or have a grade point average of 3.9 or higher; and must have an ACT score of 31 or higher or an SAT score of 1390 or higher. This award uses the same application as the MSU Presidential Scholarship.

Application requirements for the MSU University Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Qualified candidates will be notified of their status in late December and invited to attend a scholarship interview and program in early 2019. Attendance at the interview is required for consideration for the scholarship. After interviews have taken place, all candidates will be evaluated and students will be selected for the Presidential Scholarship and University Scholarship by mid-February.

Award Amount: Recipients will be awarded the same amount as the Board of Governors Scholarship ($5,000 annually) plus $2,000 for their first and second years to be applied to on-campus room and board. Non-Missouri residents will also receive a full waiver of non-resident fees. Recipients will also receive a $500 voucher to apply toward an MSU-approved study away program. To renew the scholarship, students must complete 30 credit hours each academic year and maintain a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.25 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $21,000.
