Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Santa Clara County, California.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be have completed at least two years of undergraduate study at the time of application.
  5. Must be majoring in architecture.
  6. Hispanic American student (with at least one parent of Hispanic or Hispanic American heritage)

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for architecture majors who are residents of Santa Clara County in California. Applicants must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study at the time of application.

Additional Information: The American Institute of Architects, Santa Clara Valley Chapter, or AIASCV, works in conjunction with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation to provide this scholarship. Funds are intended to assist with the education of future architecture professionals. Selection will be made within one month of the deadline date.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Additional information about this award can be found online at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation website and at the American Institute of Architects Santa Clara Valley Chapter (AIASCV) website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must submit a completed application form as well as the following documentation: a portfolio of work and graphic materials that demonstrate the applicant's design abilities and independent design efforts; at least three images of portfolio work submitted digitally; a written statement of personal goals related to a career in architecture; two letters of recommendation from teachers and/or practicing professional architects; and a completed applicant information sheet. The portfolio and recommendation letters must be submitted online no later than the deadline date. Digital photo and all other electronic supporting documents must be attached to the application and may not exceed 24 MB.
