Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled in a mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related baccalaureate program.
  3. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior in the upcoming academic year.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
  6. Must be enrolled full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who are college sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled full time in an ABET-accredited mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related baccalaureate program are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Additional Information: The ASME Foundation Scholarship fund was established in 1999 through the generous endowment of an anonymous donor. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of scholastic ability and potential contribution to the mechanical engineering profession. Applicants must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited school for the upcoming academic year. Information regarding accreditation status is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx. All applicants will be notified of the scholarship results between June 15 and July 1. Scholarship money will be sent to scholarship winners by the end of August.

Award Amount: $11,000 annually, renewable for up to a maximum of three additional years of undergraduate study. One year of graduate study may also be allowed.Renewal of this scholarship is potentially available if the student provides information requested by letter at the time of notification on the initial selection for award. The student must also keep up academic standing with his/her university.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $33,000.
