Description: The Austin Amateur Radio Club Scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate students in the Austin, Texas area who have a FCC Amateur Radio License.

Additional Information: The Austin Amateur Radio Club Scholarship is made possible by a generous donation from a local club member. Each year, a scholarship will be provided to a central Texas student who has a FCC Amateur Radio License and a history of responsibility as demonstrated through work history and academic performance. Additional consideration will be given to students who use communications technology and media in ways that benefit the larger community through safety and other welfare functions. This scholarship is administered and managed through the Austin Community Foundation. Founded in 1977, the Austin Community Foundation has expanded to combine philanthropists, community leaders, and advanced financial management technologies. The foundation works to identify and assist the local populations in greatest need through a combination of scholarships, local initiatives, and grants. To apply for this award, students must complete the online application form and submit all documents and information required in the supplemental question section. For this scholarship, the following is required: copies of standardized test scores; a list of all awards and academic honors; a list of extracurricular activities including clubs, athletics, and other campus activities; a list of other hobbies, interests, and talents; a resume detailing the applicant's work history; a copy of the student's FCC Amateur Radio License; and an essay describing the applicant's career plans and goals. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
