Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be 50 years of age of older at the time of application.
  2. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. students over the age of 50 who are returning to college. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate a commitment to community service.

Additional Information: The mission of Boomer Benefits is to help older Americans with securing suitable health insurance as they prepare to enter a new phase in their lives. With that in mind, Boomer Benefits is sponsoring an annual scholarship program to recognize and assist those baby boomers who embrace this new phase with a new education. Selection will be based on academic performance and community service efforts.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award is available online on the Boomer Benefits website at the address provided above. To be considered for this award, students must submit the following items: a completed application form; a letter of recommendation from a recent professor or community service coordinator; an up-to-date resume; a copy of transcripts; and personal responses to the questions listed on the application form. All documents must be submitted in one package and mailed to the address listed. Submissions may be sent via USPS, UPS, or FedEx, and must be postmarked by the deadline date.
