Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
  3. Must have a permanent residence in Miami-Dade or Monroe counties in Florida.
  4. Must be majoring in engineering.
  5. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at the time of application.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must be enrolled full time.

Additional Information: Evaluation will be made on the basis of academic performance, work experience, activities, honors, and letters of recommendation, along with evidence of leadership, motivation, character, and self-reliance. Special emphasis will be given to performance in the math and basic science classes identified on the course list on the application.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Florida Engineering Society (FES) website. An official transcript and a letter of recommendation from an engineering faculty member must also be submitted with the application in a separate sealed envelope. Each applicant is only required to submit one application in order to be considered for all foundation scholarships available. If permitted by the applicant, each application may be passed to other engineering entities for scholarship consideration as well. Each applicant will be sent a notification letter regarding selection of semi-finalist candidates. A member or members of the scholarship committee will interview the semi-finalists. The interview process is part of the application grading. All application materials must be submitted by the deadline date to the student's local chapter representative.
