Description: This award is for international and U.S. high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who write a 400- to 600-word essay based on one of Dr. Charles Parker's quotes. Students must submit their essays online at the CrossLites website.

Additional Information: The CrossLites Scholarship Award was created to provide high school, undergraduate, and graduate students with a chance to learn about Dr. Charles Parker, become inspired, and win some money. Once a student submits an essay online, a panel of judges will evaluate its content based on originality, reflection, grammar/punctuality, and content. The judges will then post the essay online for other viewers to vote. Voters with an unique email address are allowed to vote on an essay once per day. The essays with the highest number of votes in each category at the end of the deadline date will be declared the winner. If a student is declared a winner at the end of the contest, he/she is required to produce a physical address and a short biography via email. Please note: Submitted essays automatically become property of CrossLites. The contest winners' essays and their short biographies will be displayed on the site after the contest ends.

Award Amount: Prizes are given as follows within each of the three categories of eligibility (high school, undergraduate, and graduate): First place: $4,000 Second place: $2,500 Third place: $1,500 Fourth place: $1,000 Fifth place: $750 Sixth place: $500 There are also five lottery awards given of $150 each. All prizes are offered annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $954.

Information on this award is available on the CrossLites website by clicking on the 'Scholarship Contest' link. To be considered for this award, the student must submit a 400- to 600-word essay explaining his/her thoughts on a quote or message by Dr. Charles Parker. More information on Dr. Parker is available on the CrossLites website by clicking on the 'Dr. Parker's Quotes' tab. Please note: The student may submit up to two different essays. The essay must be submitted online on the CrossLites website. The entry form requires the student to provide his/her full name, email address, and the name of the institution he/she is currently attending. The student is also required to send an official current transcript to the postal address listed. The essay and transcript must be received by 11:59 p.m. EDT on the deadline date.
