The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship is funded by the Girard Miller Foundation. The following criteria will be used in selecting a recipient: plans to pursue a career in state or local government finance; strength of past coursework and present plan of study; letters of recommendation; and undergraduate and graduate grade point averages. Applicants will be notified in writing on or before April 30 of the committee's final decision. The winner, if one is selected, will be invited to attend the GFOA's annual conference where the award will be presented. The GFOA will provide a complimentary annual conference registration and pay for transportation costs to Seattle and hotel accommodations. Past winners of a scholarship program administered by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada are not eligible to apply.
