Description: This scholarship is open to international and U.S. graduate students who are enrolled full time studying survey statistics. The scholarship committee chooses the recipient using the following criteria: potential to contribute to survey statistics; applied experience in survey statistics; performance in graduate school.

Additional Information: Westat established the Edward C. Bryant Scholarship Trust Fund in 1995 to honor its cofounder and chair emeritus. Under Bryant's leadership, Westat, an employee-owned statistical firm established in 1961, has grown into what is now one of the world's leading statistical research corporations serving federal, state, and local governments, as well as businesses and foundations. The scholarship committee chooses the recipient using the following criteria: potential to contribute to survey statistics; applied experience in survey statistics; performance in graduate school. Awards will be presented at the Annual Joint Statistical Meetings.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online on the American Statistical Association (ASA) website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: three academic reference letters; a one- to two-page statement of interests discussing why he/she is studying survey statistics and how he/she intends to use his/her graduate training in survey methods; original graduate transcripts; and a curriculum vita (CV). Applications may be mailed or emailed using the contact information provided. Applications must be received by the deadline date.
