Additional Information: The Eugene Frank Sommerlatte Endowed Scholarship is provided annually to graduating high school seniors in the Austin Independent School District (AISD). Applicants must have an interest in cars and automotive technology, and must be planning to pursue a major in a field related to transportation and/or automotive technology. Award selection will be based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to: academic achievements, unmet financial need, and demonstrated interest in cars and transportation tech. This scholarship is administered and managed through the Austin Community Foundation. Founded in 1977, the Austin Community Foundation has expanded to combine philanthropists, community leaders, and advanced financial management technologies. The foundation works to identify and assist the local populations in greatest need through a combination of scholarships, local initiatives, and grants. Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

For this scholarship, the following is required: copies of standardized test scores; a list of all awards and academic honors; a list of extracurricular activities including clubs, athletics, and other campus activities; a list of other hobbies, interests, and talents; a resume detailing the applicant's work history; and an essay describing the applicant's career plans and goals. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
