In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to attend Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina.
  3. Must enroll full time.
  4. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  5. Must have grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must have an SAT score (reading/math) of 1000 or higher OR an ACT score of 21 or higher.
  7. Must plan to live on campus.

Description: This award is for high school seniors who plan to attend Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina full time and live on campus. The student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and either an SAT score (reading/math) of 1000 or higher or an ACT score of 21 or higher.

Additional Information: All awards are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to those students who have been admitted to GWU and meet the criteria for this award. The student will need to submit a non-refundable $150 deposit and complete a 'Great Choice Intent Form' to secure funding. Admissions will give the form to the student upon notice of eligibility.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years by maintaining a grade point average of 2.8 or higher and enrolling in a minimum of 30 credit hours per year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.

The student must apply for admission to Gardner-Webb University (GWU) to be considered for this award. An additional scholarship application is not required. Students may download a printable admission application or apply online. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: a non-refundable $40 fee (waived for online applications); an official high school transcript; SAT and/or ACT scores; his/her class rank; and a recent photograph. The student must also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Although applications are accepted throughout the year, it is recommended that students submit by the priority deadline to received full consideration.
