Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually, one per application cycle.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be enrolled in an online degree or certificate program located in the U.S.A. The college or university must be accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
  4. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student.
  5. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in an accredited online degree program located in the United States. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrated financial need.

  • FAFSA or Tax Return
Additional Information: This online degree financial aid program is funded and maintained by the distance learning experts at GetEducated.com as a part of its mission to help cut the cost of online college. All applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the GetEducated.com website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: a 500-word essay on "What a College Degree Means to Me"; a copy of his/her most recent college transcript (or high school transcript if he/she has not yet completed any college coursework); and a copy of his/her most recent FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or a copy of his/her most recent 1040 tax return. Applications must be mailed to the address provided by Oct. 15 or March 15.
