Number of Awards & Eligibility: 33 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
  3. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States as a full-time student (nine credits per semester for graduate).
  6. Must be a college graduate or older to apply for this graduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Hawaii graduate students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Additional Information: *Please note: Applicants do not have to be veterans or children of veterans in order to apply for this scholarship. All applicants for this award must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: $1,115 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $36,795.

Online application forms are available on the Hawai'i Community Foundation website. The student should visit the Hawai'i Community Foundation's website for detailed instructions on how to complete the online application. In addition to the online application form, the student must submit the following supporting materials: the printed confirmation page that is generated after applying online; a typed, double-spaced personal statement of two to three pages answering the questions listed at the provider's website; an official copy of his/her most recent transcript; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. A student will not be able to submit his/her application until all required supporting documents are electronically attached to the application. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. HST on the deadline date.
