Number of Awards & Eligibility: 100 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be ranked in the top 15 percent of his/her graduating class.
  3. Must be the son, daughter, or grandchild of an International Brotherhood of Teamsters member.
  4. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  5. Must attend school in the United States or Canada.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for graduating high school seniors who are the son, daughter, grandchild, or financial dependent of a Teamster Union member. Applicants must rank in the top 15% of their graduating class, have excellent SAT/ACT scores, and have demonstrated financial need.

Additional Information: The applicant's teamster parent must have been a member in good standing during the 12 consecutive months preceding the application deadline. Applicants must have excellent SAT or ACT scores. Applicants must also have a need for financial aid.

Award Amount: Thirty-one awards for $2,500 annually, renewable for three years. Sixty-nine awards for $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,790.

Applications are available on the International Brotherhood of Teamsters website. Portions of the application must be filled out by the applicant's guidance counselor. Once the applicant has completed the required sections of the application, he/she must forward the application and his/her academic record to the teamster parent's local union. The local union secretary-treasurer will complete the section marked 'Membership Verification' and forward the form to the scholarship fund. It is recommended that the application be submitted to the local union two weeks prior to the deadline date.
