Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered each year may vary and is dependent on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must be a National Merit Finalist.
  4. Must plan to attend Kenyon College in Ohio.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must attend a college or university in Ohio.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. high school seniors who are planning to attend Kenyon College. The student must be a National Merit Finalist.

Application requirements for the Kenyon College National Merit Scholarship are:

  • FAFSA
  • Admission
Additional Information: Students who are selected as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship competition are eligible for the KC National Merit Scholarship. For additional information about the National Merit program the student can visit: www.nationalmerit.org/.

Award Amount: Students will receive $1,000 per year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Students may view information about this award at the Kenyon College (KC) website by clicking on the "Costs & Financial Aid" link, then clicking on the "Merit Scholarships" link (located under the "Types of Aid" heading). There is no separate scholarship application necessary to apply. A student who is selected as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship competition is automatically considered for this award upon being admitted to KC. Students must also complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. There is no deadline for scholarship consideration other than regular admission application deadlines. Students must file their application for admission by Jan. 15.
