Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered each year may vary depending on the number of qualified applicants. All eligible students who meet the academic requirements upon acceptance to LTU will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on an unweighted 4.0 scale.
  4. Must plan to be a full-time student.
  5. Must attend Louisiana Tech University.
  6. Must be an admitted incoming freshman.
  7. Must be a resident of Louisiana.
  8. Must have an ACT score of 23-31, OR an SAT score of 1050-1350 (critical reading and math).

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors who are residents of Louisiana and plan to attend Louisiana Tech University. The student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and have an SAT score of 1050 to 1350 or an ACT score of 23 to 31.

Additional Information: The LTU Outstanding Student Scholarship is an academic scholarship offered by Louisiana Tech University to incoming freshmen students. The scholarship is administered through the admissions department on the basis of demonstrated academic ability and is not based on financial need.

Award Amount: Award amounts range from $2,000 to $6,500 annually, renewable for up to additional three years providing the student maintains full-time enrollment with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,500.

Scholarship information is available online on the Louisiana Tech University (LTU) website by clicking on the "Freshman Scholarships" link. To be considered for the scholarship, students must apply for admission to LTU. Admissions information is available online at admissions.latech.edu/apply/index.php. In addition to a completed admissions application, the student must submit the following: the required application fee; standardized testing scores, sent directly from the testing agency or on an official transcript; an official high school transcript, which must show graduation date, grade point average, and class rank; and official transcripts for all dual enrollment courses completed, if applicable (unless dual enrollment completed at LTU). The student must apply for admission by the priority deadline of Jan. 5 of his/her senior year to be considered for this scholarship. For scholarship purposes, standardized test scores through the December test date will be accepted.
