Number of Awards & Eligibility: Six awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  2. Must be a resident of North Carolina.
  3. Must be attending a college or university in North Carolina.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must be employed in retail or have a parent/guardian who is employed in retail.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for current undergraduate students in North Carolina who are employed in retail or have a parent/guardian who is employed in retail. Selection will be based on academic merit, employment history, and other contributions to the community through service and volunteer work.

Additional Information: The North and South Carolina Scholarship Programs are sponsored and provided by the Retail-Consumer Alliance Foundation, the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association, and the CarolinasFood Industry Council to benefit their members and employees. Selection of recipients is primarily based on academic achievement, community service & involvement, and work experience.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA) website using the link provided. In addition to the completed application form, students must submit the following items: employment history and work verification; a release form allowing the NCRMA access to academic information; the essay section; a list of extracurricular and volunteer activities; and an official transcript of all college coursework completed. All applications and supporting documents must be postmarked no later than the deadline date.
