In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of New Jersey.
  3. Must be enrolled in a New Jersey college or university.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
  5. Must major in accounting, or have completed at least 12 credits in accounting with plans to pursue it as a career.
  6. Must be a college junior or senior to apply for this undergraduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. and international students who are residents of New Jersey and enrolled in any New Jersey college or university with a major or concentration in accounting. The applicant must be a current junior, senior, or enrolled in a graduate CPA program and have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.

Additional Information: Scholarships will be awarded at the NJSCPA Scholarship Awards Ceremony in April. All scholarship recipients are strongly urged to attend The Scholars Institute program in June.

Award Amount: $6,500 annuallyPlease note: Recipients who are awarded an undergraduate scholarship may also receive a graduate scholarships. Students may only receive one award at each level (undergraduate and graduate).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,500.

Applications are available on the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) website. In addition to the completed application form, the student must also submit the following items: one letter of recommendation from an accounting professor whose class he/she has taken or in which he/she is currently enrolled; an official transcript; and a current resume. If the applicant has not yet completed 12 credit hours in accounting, he/she must also submit proof of registration for the coming spring semester showing additional credits in accounting. (If selected to receive a scholarship, the student must also provide a transcript showing completion of the registered credits and maintenance of a 3.2 grade point average.) The application and all supporting documents must be received by the deadline date. Please note: Finalists will be invited for an interview shortly after the deadline.
