In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend Northwestern College in Iowa, a Christian college.
  2. Must be a Christian.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  5. Must have an ACT score of 21 or higher OR the SAT equivalent OR rank in the top 50 percent of his/her class.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.
  7. Must plan to attend a college or university in Iowa.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who have an ACT score of 21 (or SAT equivalent) OR or rank in the top 50 percent of their class are automatically eligible to receive this award upon admission to Northwestern College in Iowa.

Additional Information: Students qualifying for an Academic Achievement Scholarship must be accepted for admission to Northwestern College before they can be awarded the scholarship. Additional financial aid is available and is based on individual factors like family income (as detailed on your FAFSA) as well as participation in varsity athletics or the fine arts.

Award Amount: $8,000 to $10,000 annually, renewable for up to three years as long as the student achieves a 2.75 cumulative grade point average after his/her first year and a 3.0 cumulative grade point average thereafter.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $36,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Northwestern College website. There is not a separate application for this award. The student will be considered upon admission. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a $25 application fee (waived if the application is completed online); an evaluation form; transcripts; a response of two or more paragraphs to the questions posed within the application; and ACT/SAT scores. Applications should be submitted by the priority deadline.
