Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university
  3. Must demonstrate an interest to pursue a career in general aviation.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be a college sophomore or junior at time of application.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Application requirements for the Pioneers of Flight Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Semi-finalists are selected by University Aviation Association (UAA) on the basis of academic record, recommendation letter and statement of educational and career goals. Using this information, together with information provided by UAA, the National Air Transportation Federation (NATF) will announce the scholarship awards each year during NATA's annual spring convention. Scholarship recipients may be offered internship opportunities. The recipient has no obligation to the NATF, but is required to supply UAA with current transcripts and to notify UAA of any changes of address, school enrollment or other relevant information. Except as described in this brochure, no other obligation is required by the NATF or the NATA.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Checks will be mailed to each recipient's home address and made payable jointly to the recipient and the college and must be endorsed by both.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
