In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have already attained certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or other equivalent certifying organization OR have completed an entry-level program and be transitioning directly into higher education in an eligible field. Please note: Students must finish their certificate or degree program after Sept. 1 of the year in which scholarship applications are due.
  3. Must be a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).
  4. Must have applied to or be currently attending a radiation therapy, sonography, magnetic resonance, or nuclear medicine certificate or degree program.
  5. Must attend an accredited college or university in the United States.

Additional Information: Siemens Healthcare is a trendsetter in medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics and medical information technology. By optimizing clinical workflows, Siemens makes healthcare faster, better and more cost-effective. The Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship assists medical imaging professionals seeking to enhance their clinical practice skills and provide excellent patient care. An independent panel, the Scholarship Review Committee, evaluates applications and assigns scores to each section of the application based on standardized criteria. The combined scores are ranked, and recipients are recommended to the Board of Trustees for final approval. All awards are based on a combination of academic/professional achievements, essay content, financial need, and professional recommendation. All applicants are notified via email by May 1. Students may be awarded only one scholarship per year. If a student qualifies for more than one scholarship, he/she will receive the highest amount award for which he/she is selected.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available online from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation website. Each student must apply via the online application system managed by AcademicWorks. Only one application need be submitted; the student will be considered for all scholarships for which he/she is eligible. Each student must provide his/her personal tax information on the application unless claimed as a dependent; if claimed as a dependent, the student must report the income of the person(s) who claimed him/her as a dependent. Financial information should be based on the most recent tax return. Each student must also provide his/her ASRT member number, nine short answer responses of 200 words or less each, and the name and email address of a supervisor or manager who will submit an academic recommendation. The recommender will be sent instructions for submission of his/her recommendation. The complete online application must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on the deadline date.
