Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually. One grand prize and four runners-up prizes.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  3. Must plan to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.

Description: U.S. and international high school seniors who plan to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York in the upcoming fall semester are eligible to apply for this award. Applicants must exhibit academic excellence, demonstrate leadership skills, and commit to health and well-being.

Additional Information: Applicants will be notified mid-Sept. regarding the status of their application. This scholarship is awarded to freshmen who exhibit the principles and values of a Balanced Man. Applicants must be dedicated to academic excellence, leadership, and maintaining a sound mind and body. Awards will be made to men and/or women.

Award Amount: The grand prize winner will be awarded $1,000 annually. Each runner up will be awarded $250 annually. All awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $400.

Applications are available online from the Sigma Phi Epsilon New York Delta Chapter website in online and paper format. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit scholastic information and a listing of any activities he/she was involved in throughout high school. The applicant may also submit any additional documents (resume, letters of recommendation, etc.) that he/she feels may be relevant during review of his/her application. Additional documents must be included with a paper application or submitted via email to Andrew Ennis. Applications must be submitted by the deadline date to be considered.
