Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must plan to attend Southeast Missouri State University.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must have an ACT score of 18 or higher OR an SAT score of 860 or higher.
  7. Must demonstrate student involvement in multiple school or community activities for at least three years of high school. The following activities earn automatic qualification for the scholarship: Boys' State, Girls' State, HOBY, Missouri Renaissance program, Missouri A+ program completion, Eagle Scout or Girl Scout Gold Award.
  8. Must attend a college or university in Missouri.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Graduating high school seniors who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and an ACT/SAT score of 18/860 or higher are eligible for this award. Students will be considered upon admission to Southeast Missouri State University.

Additional Information: The scholarship may be combined with one of the following scholarships: a $4,000 Presidents' Scholarship, a $2,000 University Scholarship, or the Midwest Achievement Award.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years as long as the recipient maintains a 3.25 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and completes 24 or more credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Southeast Missouri State University (SMSU) website. There is not a separate application to apply for this award. Each student will be considered upon admission. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a $30 application fee and official transcripts including ACT/SAT scores. The student must also respond to the optional questions within the application to demonstrate student involvement in multiple school or community activities for at least three years of high school. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by the deadline date.
