Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for all academic classes.
  3. Must have completed 30 or more college credit hours at time of application for this undergraduate award.
  4. Must be currently enrolled at Texas A&M University.

Description: International undergraduate students who have completed 30 or more credit hours at TAMU are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; preference is given to students enrolled at TAMU/Koriyama.

Additional Information: This award is given each year to recognize international undergraduate students for outstanding achievement in academics and leadership at Texas A&M. The student must demonstrate that he/she possesses a strong interest in promoting international relations between people of all cultures. First preference for the award is given to those students enrolled full-time at TAMU/Koriyama. The student cannot have previously received the award.

Award Amount: Up to $600 per semester, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,200.

Application and award information is available online on the Texas A&M University (TAMU) website. The application should be submitted through the 'Student Financial Aid On-Line Common Application' system. The student must login using his/her TAMU 'Net ID' to access the application. He/she should be sure to complete the 'Eligibility and Financial Resources' pages within the 'International/Study Abroad' section of the application. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit a letter of nomination from a Texas A&M faculty member, on departmental letterhead. The letter should include, but is not limited to the following: name of scholarship, name of student, nominator's relationship to the student, a description of the student's academic performance, a description of specific academic successes and effort put forth by the student, activities in which the student has been involved in that promote international awareness, and any other information deemed important that the scholarship committee should know. The letter of nomination must be mailed to the address provided and must be received no later than 5 p.m. CST on the application deadline date.
