Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies, all eligible students will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must be a resident of Tennessee for at least one year prior to the admission of the application.
  3. Must enroll in an associate or baccalaureate degree at an eligible postsecondary institution in Tennessee.
  4. Must be admitted to and enroll in an eligible postsecondary institution no later than 16 months after graduating from high school.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must have a composite ACT score of 21 or higher or an SAT score of 980 or higher.
  7. Must plan on enrolling in no less than six credit hours per semester.
  8. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: This award is available to Tennessee high school seniors who are planning to attend an eligible postsecondary institution in Tennessee. The student must have a weighted grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a 980 or higher SAT (math and critical reading only) or 21 or higher ACT score. Learn more and apply today!

Additional Information: The Tennessee HOPE Scholarship is a state program, administered through the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, established to provide merit-based aid to Tennessee residents who are enrolled in one of the Tennessee public colleges, universities, or private colleges. Home-schooled students, or those who have passed the GED examination, are eligible for consideration. For additional information, students should contact the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC).

Award Amount: Up to $4,000 annually. Up to $1,750 per semester for freshmen and sophomores, then up to $2,250 per semester as juniors and seniors. Awards to part-time enrolled students are prorated.Awards are renewable for up to five years or until the student has completed a bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first. Recipients must complete the FAFSA each year and maintain a required grade point average at the end of any semester in which eligibility would have been reviewed.Eligibility for renewal shall be reviewed at the end of the semester upon an attempted total of 24, 48, 72, 96, or any subsequent multiple of 24 semester hours. Additionally, at 72 attempted hours and beyond, students may be reviewed at the end of each semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Additional information about this award is available from the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) College Pays website. To apply, eligible students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. The FAFSA must be completed as soon as possible after October 1 of the and must be received by Sept. 1 for the fall semester; and Feb. 1 for the spring and summer semesters. Early application is recommended.
