Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In 2015, nine awards were given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be enrolled in a hospitality management program.
  4. Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student.
  5. Must be a dependent of a part or full time American Express employee.

Description: The American Express Scholarship Program is currently funded by the American Express Foundation to encourage and recognize academic excellence and help American Express employees fund their children’s undergraduate college education.

Application requirements for the The American Express Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Financial data
Additional Information: Applications will be evaluated according to the following categories: academics, related work experience, extracurricular activities, financial need, honors, and personal attributes.

Award Amount: $2,000 to $4,000 per year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.
