Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be U.S. citizen.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  5. Must plan to enroll full time in a four-year college or university.
  6. Must attend a high school in the Dallas (TX) Independent School District.

Description: This scholarship is open to high school seniors who attend a high school in the Dallas (TX) Independent School District. Students must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher and demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: This scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and academic potential.

Award Amount: Up to $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online from the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) website. In order to access the application, the student must create a login using his/her email address and chosen password. As part of the application, the student must write an essay of no more than 1,000 words discussing why he/she thinks it is important to attend college. The student must also provide contact information for a person who will provide a reference on his/her behalf; the recommender will be given instructions for submission of the reference form. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
