Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must meet admission requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida.
  4. Must be a college junior or senior.
  5. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  6. Must plan to enroll in nine or more credit hours each semester.
  7. Must be a declared major in mechanical engineering.

Description: This scholarship is available for juniors and seniors at the University of North Florida who are enrolled in the mechanical engineering program. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Additional Information: UNF's School of Engineering and Department of Construction Management are proud to offer this scholarship sponsored by American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, today's ASME promotes the art, science & practice of mechanical & multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe. Scholarship recipients must: maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher; remain in good standing as a student; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor.

Award Amount: $500 awards  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications will be available online on the University of North Florida (UNF) College of Computing, Engineering & Construction (CCEC) website. As part of the online application, the student must submit short essay answers (300 characters or less) describing his/her career interests, extracurricular activities, and work experience. The scholarship application must be completed online and submitted by the deadline date. Only electronic applications will be considered.
